The Light Behind the 2022 Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular

While we are grateful for the exposure it has provided us from the good folks at PLSN, we wanted to share some more of the visuals that an article doesn’t always have room for. Read on to see some of the best pics of how the lighting makes this annual event on Boston’s Esplanade an iconic July 4th scene that gives chills to all who watch in person and on screen!
Graham Edmondson was our lead for this fantastic project, so we decided to ask him to share a few insights about it that the viewer may not be aware of! Here’s a little “Behind the Scenes” look at what goes into one of America’s most iconic outdoor shows:
Q. So how does a gigantic show like this get done?
“This was our first year doing this show, and it was easily one of the most interesting projects
I’ve ever worked on. We were brought in later just two months out, and had two weeks prior to load-in to work with the final plot to prepare 610 lights of which about a 1/3 were conventional lights, which is an uncommon request! In addition to the existing structures on the half-shell, six additional scaffolding towers were provided by Pro Event as well.”
