Pedestrian Bridge Lighting Makeover

PORT just finished up an architectural lighting installation at a major corporation headquarters in Boston's Metro West.

PORT Lighting recently completed an impressive architectural lighting installation at a major corporate headquarters located in Boston’s MetroWest region. This large-scale project featured two modern office buildings connected by a stunning pedestrian bridge—an ideal canvas for a custom architectural lighting solution.

Our client envisioned dynamic, programmable lighting “shows” that could run nightly, while also allowing full customization for holidays, corporate events, and special occasions. We jumped at the opportunity to bring this creative vision to life.

To deliver a seamless, high-impact lighting experience, we integrated 530 Color Kinetics ColorFuse Powercore RGB LED fixtures into the bridge structure. These compact, linear fixtures are known for their vibrant color-changing capabilities and energy efficiency—perfect for architectural applications.

To complement the lighting, we provided two Pharos architectural lighting control systems:

• 1 Pharos LPC (Lighting Playback Controller) for automated show programming throughout the year

• 1 Pharos TPC (Touch Panel Controller) for user-friendly, on-demand color and effect changes

Our team also fabricated a custom-built anodized aluminum channel to house the fixtures, allowing us to integrate the lighting seamlessly into the existing bridge infrastructure without compromising aesthetics.

Now, with just a few taps on their Pharos touch panel, the client can transform the bridge’s look instantly—whether it’s red, white, and blue for the Fourth of July, or a smooth color chase to energize the space during corporate functions. The automated playback controller ensures the lighting changes effortlessly throughout the year, delivering continuous impact with zero hassle.
